At-home Facial 10 Minute | by Allison Marie

Hey ladies! The cold winter weather is upon us, so you can be sure to
expect some BIG changes in your skin. Going along with Amanda and Marrissa’s new series, Restful November, I will be giving you a few tips on how to take great care of your skin from the
coziness of your own home! And the best part is — this at-home facial can be done in 10 minutes or less! It’s no secret that I love makeup, but a
flawless complexion can be easily achieved with healthy skin.

We’re all busy and searching for balance in our lives, but we tend to forget the effects a busy lifestyle can have on our skin. If you want to
maintain the integrity of your skin, try following these 5 super simple steps! Keep in mind: everyone’s skin is different, so you have to find what works best for
you, which may take some trial and error.

Step 1: Cleanser: Blot cleanser onto forehead, cheeks,
and chin. Massage onto skin in circular motions for 1 full minute. Rinse with warm cloth or splash of water. Don’t forget your neck and décolleté! [I really like Dermalogica’s Special Cleaning Gel]

Step 2: Exfoliator: A light exfoliation is recommended
1-2 times per week. Sometimes beads (which are meant to help remove dead skin cells) can be included in cleansers, so be mindful of over-exfoliating.

Step 3: Toner: Helps balance out the pH in your skin. It
can be applied to a cotton pad or spritzed at arm’s length over you face. Did you
know the pH of your skin is slightly acidic at 5.5 on the pH scale?

Step 4: Masque: Helps to draws out
impurities and can be used 1-2 times/week. They can have other benefits, too, such as brightening and toning. It all
depends on which one you buy and what your desired results are. [Using a masque like Proactiv’s Skin Purifying Mask, which contains sulphur, is really great for acne-prone skin!)

Step 5: Moisturizer: Start at your neck; move to face using
upward strokes. Afterwards, you are all ready for makeup primer or foundation. If you
have a serum, it always goes on prior to moisturizing.

**Be aware that you may or may not breakout after. I always
do. Also, dryness or peeling can occur. Make sure to drink plenty of water!

Now, I know that I have talked a lot about the face, but the
body shouldn’t be excluded. Some tips I have for the body are: to exfoliate
prior to showering (dry brushing) or while in the shower (product on loofa),
use warm water when showering (hot showers should be avoided), and apply lotion
twice a day. I highly recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion, and you can pick it up on your next Target run!

There you have it! It takes just a few minutes and the benefits of taking good care of your skin are endless!

I have tried many skin care products over the years, as I’m sure a lot of you girls have. It can be hard to find out what works for you. I currently use Dermalogica, and I’m really liking their double-cleansing routine. I use it during all of my facials at work and have recently become certified in all of their products.

I hope you’ll try this at home! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below! And feel free to e-mail me at allisonmarie87.beauty@gmail.com
