Announcing Flower Crown Gathering

Our 2nd annual flower crown gathering is right around the corner! This event is close to our hearts; last year was our very first time hosting ladies in the setting we had been dreaming up for years. It was an amazing night of community, we sat outside well into the night sharing life stories + building relationships with new and old friends. We are so excited to gather around our white tables once again. The photo opportunities are so fun! Come out in your best boho looks and join us for a night under the summer sky!

This year’s flower crown gathering will be a celebration of finishing our first year as The Wild Revival. To see photos from our flower crown gathering last year, click here!

We encourage you to invite your friends and register early! We will be closing registration on July 29th to ensure we have all supplies needed for the gathering. We can promise you that this is one gathering you won’t want to miss!

Styling a Gathering | Preparation is Key

Inspiration board summer gathering

Marrissa and I like to give our readers an idea of what to expect when they attend a Wild Revival Gathering. Hosting is fun, but can be a real downer if no one comes out for your event. Sharing our inspiration board with our potential guest helps build up excitement,  lets them know what to expect out of the evening and helps us prepare. It’s time well spent!

Our first gathering of the summer will be a simple evening of succulent planting with lemonade + cupcakes. We will gather around picnic tables by the lake, paint plant pots and fill them with our succulents. We will provide the potting soil, paints, brushes, snacks + drinks for the evening. We ask that guests bring their own succulents (you can buy them at Lowe’s or Home Depot)) along with small terracotta pots of your choice. This gathering is a way for us to get back around the table with you and we’re looking forward to it! If you would like to attend, please register here!

Inspiration board

Our inspiration for the night was boho summer. The evening is going full of boho touches, with bright colors and simple decor. Nothing over the top! We aim to keep the nights decor achievable, the goal is to provide the ladies who attend inspiration to hold their own gatherings. Marrissa and I both have busy lives with little time or money to invest in decor for every style gathering we host. We have a few staple pieces you will see us use at each gathering.

Gathering your friends and join us for a fun evening on May 21st! Follow this link to register.

‘Hosting with Heart’ | eBook

We are SO excited to release our very first e-Book entitled Hosting with Heart, and it’s coming to you TODAY — just in time for the holidays! This sweet and simple guide will encourage you to focus on what matters most when gathering people around a table.

For us, gatherings are the heart and soul behind The Wild Revival. The sense of community and unity we feel when we bring people together has been so life-giving for us, and it has been so worth our time. Hosting is about so much more than just the food + decor. It’s about creating a space where the walls can come down and people can be heard.

We hope to point you towards creating a relaxed atmosphere centered around connection and heritage rather than perfection and stress. We have truly shared a big piece of our hearts with you in Hosting with Heart and we envision you printing it out and fumbling through the pages as you stand in your kitchen preparing for you next dinner party or get-together.

Hosting with Heart also includes a delicious recipe we’ve made and served to our guests at our gatherings. And don’t even get us started on how beautiful the photos are in the eBook! Go see for yourself! This labor of love means so much to us and we hope it inspires you this holiday season. Follow this link to download your FREE copy today!

Autumn Evening | Fall Dinner Party

When we started The Wild Revival, we had this vision of holding gatherings. Hosting an Autumn Evening has been on our heart for awhile. Our purpose behind it all is to bring together a community of women who can honestly share in life experiences with one another, have a little fun, and forget about the stresses of life for a while. We said we wanted to create a space for women to feel comfortable, accepted, and worthy of good things. We knew we wanted the table to be the focal point of these gatherings. And now, after hosting 3 of them in 8 weeks, we can truly say that magic is happening, and it’s happening around the table.

Our love and passion for life around the table didn’t start with The Wild Revival; it started with our families and the many traditions we had growing up. Sunday dinners, birthday parties, impromptu get-togethers…they all took place around someone’s table. Tables that likely had scratches, dents, imperfections, mismatched chairs and dishes, and were always overflowing with amazing recipes passed down from older generations. What we remember most when we recall our upbringings though, isn’t necessarily the food. It was the people, the conversations, the hugs, the peptalks, and the roaring sounds of laughter. No matter what was going on in our lives or in our families’ lives, we all put EVERYTHING on pause to be together. That sense of unity we felt when gathered around a table was our safe zone. And we are striving to recreate it in our adult lives… and we want you to be a part of it.

Something happens when you invite someone into a space where all they have to do is be present. A place they can just show up to and sit down; where they can stop running around like crazy, bouncing from thing to thing, and just be. We live in a society that glorifies busy, better, faster. But sitting at that table, eating and taking in the simplicity of life in that very moment is both nourishment for the body + the soul, and it revives something in us that feels lost at times. The table, we feel, is when walls tend to come down, the masks come off, and the conversations start to flow. And when the people at the table don’t all necessarily know each other, we’re dedicated to finding that common ground among a group women.

Earlier this month, we held a private dinner party for a small group of our girlfriends. This night is one that we would like to relive over and over. It was a great evening filled with women we love. This night made us think about the stories we are all writing and telling with our lives. We are women who are chasing + building dreams, women who are busy, struggling, and loving on others through it all. Seeing it all come together was kinda magical. But was it the food that made it magical? The outfits we had on? The table setting? Yes and no to all of those things on some level. But what really made it so special was the people we had there, laughing, and telling stories as the sun went down and the cool fall breeze crept in. Those things make moments like this so much more magical than all of the perfectly planned out details ever could.

*** And now for our big news! . . .

In November, we will be releasing our very FIRST eBook, entitled “Hosting with Heart.”  It will be a curated guide to life around the table, and will include recipes, tips + stories of how we intentionally host our guests with a lot of heart + soul. We hope you will download it, print it out, and use it during the holiday season to create an atmosphere of connection around your tables. We can’t wait for you to see it!

Flower Crowns + Food | Gathering

Last summer, Amanda and I thought of an idea for a gathering we wanted to hold. We wanted to host a small group of girlfriends, make pretty flower crowns and eat + talk, just for fun… because we felt like everyone would enjoy an evening like that. We wanted it to be an intimate event where women could come together, creatively, and share life experiences with one another. But if we’re being honest– life got in the way. We got busy and it just didn’t happen.

Nearly a year went by and we decided we were going to start blogging about the things we love combined with hosting those gatherings that we had talked about so often. We wanted to bring women together, around a table, because that’s where the good stuff happens. That’s where you talk, dream, cry, EAT, laugh, and create things with your own hands.

It’s so hard to make time for friendships, but if the past few years of our lives have taught us anything — it’s that friends are the glue that holds us together. It’s important to make time to be with the people you care about. Community is vital, and finding what you love to do is, too. The heart + soul behind The Wild Revival Gatherings is creating a space where the walls can drop and real, honest conversations can happen.

This is about connection.

On the last Saturday of August, we finally held our first gathering: Flower Crowns + Food! It was amazing to see our heart’s desire come to fruition right in front of us.  It was an ideal end of summer soiree.

There were 16 of us at the event and we each brought something different to the table. Our stories are different, as are our struggles + our joys. We created, we laughed, and we engaged in conversations we wouldn’t have had, had it not been for the gathering. There is something to be said about what God does when He brings people together in that way.
“The heart of hospitality is about creating space for someone to feel seen and heard and loved. It’s about declaring your table a safe zone, a place of warmth and nourishment.”
― Shauna NiequistBread & Wine: A Love Letter to Life Around the Table, with RecipesHere’s a look inside our very first gathering!

We are so thankful to all of you ladies for making our first gathering such a success! Seeing you looking so pretty in your flower crowns + engaging with one another further reinforced our calling to do this. We’re looking forward to our next one already! Keep checking back for details on our fall gathering!

Behind the Scenes | Flower Crown Event Prep

Our Saturday was filled with the all the things we enjoy most. We started the day off at a local antique shop
where we were on the hunt for cups + plates that would go well with our
whimsy, boho style for the upcoming |Flower Crowns + Food| gathering.

We loved so many things at the shop, but left with nothing
that morning for this particular event. (I’m sure we’ll be back!)
Next stop was A.C. Moore to pick up the last of the supplies for our flower crowns.  We found these great letters on sale while shopping!
So excited to dress these up… possibly using this
((tutorial)), but you will have to
stay tuned for the finished product! ; )

Can we take a second to appreciate Marrissa’s OOTD? This kimono received compliments at every stop during our outing. You can never go wrong with Forever 21!

RUGS.FOR.DAYS… What a find at Ollies!
We will be using these rugs at the gathering around our table along
with some neutrals. We had the aisle floor covered in them; it
was so hard to only pick a few! They were such a great purchase for only $8.00
and we will be using them post-event in our office space.

We stopped to grab mexican food for a quick lunch, and then got
back to work: DIYing + working on a mock table setup for the gathering.
Amanda was working on the last step of our table: applying Annie Sloan wax over the chalk paint that we used.

Prepping for this event has been a lot of fun. We still have to purchase our blooms for the flower crowns and buy the food. Other than that, we’re ready to go!

We can’t wait to see it all come together on Saturday. We’ve dreamed of doing this for such a long time. What we’re looking forward to the most is stepping back and watching you build relationships + enrich your life in the space we have created for youIt’s scary to put yourself out there…trust us, we know from experience. Meeting new people in a new setting or sharing a dream with a world of
strangers– it can be somewhat difficult and uncomfortable; but at the same time, it’s so life-giving when you finally do. We hope the low-key vibe we’re creating makes you feel at ease and ready to have some fun!

You were not meant to
walk this path alone and we’re really looking forward to walking alongside with you. We need people in our lives who help us come to love ourselves more. People matter. People doing life with other people matter.

Please register today and/or message us to arrange a small, private flower crown event. How fun would that be for a bridal shower or baby shower?
