My Funny Valentines

I was a working mom for 5 years,  traveling often left me distracted from the details of motherhood.  This is the first year I’ve had the mental clarity + time to really do something special for the holidays. Christmas is a given, I always jumped all in for that one, but the others fell by the wayside. We are coming up on Valentines Day and I felt like it was time to take full advantage of the fact that I’m home full time. “Homemade” Valentines +  decorations made me feel like I’ve hit a momentary stride in this new role.

In years past I wouldn’t decorate, do anything homemade or get ahead of the classroom Valentines Day party. True story, one year I forgot to get a Valentines Day box for my sons preschool celebration.  I did what any good mother would do, I went to Target, bought a piñata and called it a day.  It was a win in my book! It looked just as good as all the over the top homemade valentines day boxes.

When The Ever Co. announced they had customs valentines, I had to jump on it! My guy will have unique cards with witty + fun sayings and I get to feel like I did something extra special. This is the last week to order their Valentines for just $2.99! You get all 8 designs for boys and girls.

valentinesdayprintablesIt’s super simple. After making your purchase you will receive the files for download, next you just need to print on cardstock at home or at an office store! Super simple + cheap. The best part is they count as homemade!valentinesdayprintables

I sent mine to staples and picked them up an hour later. We came home and put his friend’s names on them, I felt so ahead of the game this year.

Good thing, shortly after printing them the stomach bug hit and we haven’t had time for much of anything. Can winter be over yet, gosh! Anywho, go check them out! Make sure to tag @theeverco and @thewildrevival on Instagram, sharing how you made Valentines Day extra special this year.

Holiday Cocktail | Moscow Mule

A Moscow Mule, also known as a Vodka buck, is a mule made with a high-quality vodka, a spicy ginger beer (I love Reed’s Ginger Beer), and lime juice, garnished with a slice or wedge of lime. It is usually served in a copper mug. This simple cocktail has been a go to for me for months now. I prefer to add muddled mint leaves to mine for added flavor. Dropping a few cranberries into your mugs is a great way to add a seasonal touch to this yummy drink!

Main alcohol: Vodka

Ingredients: 4 oz Ginger beer, 1 1/2 oz Vodka, 1/6 oz Lime juice

Preparation: Combine vodka and ginger beer in a copper mug or highball glass filled with ice. Add lime juice. Stir gently and garnish with a lime slice.

Served: On the rocks; poured over ice.

Drinkware: Copper mug or highball glass

Ginger Blue Naturals Product Review | Allison Marie

Winter is the best time to focus on skin care. With the dry
air inside and cooler temperatures outside,  it’s very important to exfoliate,
moisturize, and use lip balms. Ginger Blue Naturals has you covered with all
three. An all-natural body care line that is handmade in Roanoke, West
Virginia. The owner, Lee Gainer, can be seen at Tamarack, Oglebayfest, and the
Bridgeport Farmer’s Market selling these products
If you like essential oils, then you will LOVE her products because they’re very therapeutic. There are no fragrances or additives. And
you only need a small amount. The logo and packaging are so lovely and one of my favorite things about her brand. I love that her packaging is an extension of her
natural theme with flowers, antlers, and dark glass jars to protect the
essential oils. I had the chance to sample a few of her products and my skin
truly does feels great after using them for a couple weeks.
Keep reading to hear more about about these local products and what I thought of them… You’re going to want these for Christmas, I just know it! ; )
The Lavender Sage Salve smells like menthol with a little hint of peppermint. It does an excellent job to soften up dry cuticles and moisturize elbows. You can use it on any chapped surface.
The Patchouli Body Butter has a musk, almost forest-like scent. It made my skin soft for the entire day and the scent did not fade away.
The Chai Spice Sugar Scrub has a spicy but sweet scent. It makes my skin smooth, even the backs of my arms which tend to be a little rough. It also allowed my spray tan to go on more evenly!
The lip balms make your lips kissable. She has several scents like: Lemon-lime and Clove & Sweet Orange. But my personal favorite would have to be the “Blush” lip stain (far right). It adds a little touch of color that is a pretty pink that is very natural-looking and I love to use this on my minimal makeup days for a fresh look!
Thank you, Lee, for allowing me to review a few of your products! I have been spreading the word about Ginger Blue! Ladies, I definitely recommend her products and would love for you to try them and let me know what you thought! Who doesn’t want all-natural products that smell and feel great?
Go and check out Ginger Blue Naturals’ website: www.mkt/gingerbluenaturals. She does have other products and even carries a few products for the men in your life! You can shop the online store (FREE shipping!!) or catch them at the next indoor winter farmer’s market in Bridgeport on December 13th. I will be picking up some of their Lemongrass all-natural deodorant when I go.
Remember to support small businesses everywhere and shop local this holiday season! These products would make great stocking stuffers, too!

December is here and we couldn’t be more excited for all we have in store for you this month!
